Here I will say a few words about the classical novel and well-known horror story, The Shining Book by Stephen King. It was his first hardback best-seller and the third book published. The Shining was published in 1977.
In 2013 a sequel was published which is titled Doctor Sleep, but we will talk about this later.
The novel is following a writer, Jack Torrance and a recovering alcoholic who takes a job in the Overlook Hotel, as a caretaker for the winter period. He needs solitude and of course money to make a living. His family come to spend time together for the winter in this historic hotel, his wife and his 5 year old son Danny, who has telepathic powers unknown yet to his parents. The Shining is actually how he calls his power to read peoples minds and have premonitions.
Once he accepts the job, he finds out that some guests and the previous caretaker died in strange circumstances.
Jack hopes that solitude will help him with his work and find himself, stop his drinking and reconnecting with his family. But will this winter be a chance for a good life or a tragedy?
Follow Jack Torrance and spend a winter of terror and strange happenings in an isolated hotel in the mountains.
